Take an awe-inspiring trip into the heart of Florida’s entire water system at the Florida Aquarium. The exhibit traces Florida’s water from its wetlands (saw grass marsh area with alligator hatchling, otter den and cypress swamp), through tangled roots of coastal mangrove thickets into the near-shore shallow and sea grass communities of the bay and beach. The exhibit finally reaches a multi-level full-scale replica of a coral reef. This state of the art aquarium houses over 10,000 animals and plants which represent over 550 species native to Florida.
